About Us - Club History
The Upside Down Sports Club ran successfully for
over 10 years from the early 1990s under the leadership of Pam Wilkie,
a local Paediatric Physiotherapist. In 1994 charitable status was
achieved.
The Club existed to provide sporting opportunities
for children and young people with physical disabilities. The Club
met weekly for a general sports session, as well as organising other
sporting and recreational activities throughout the year.
In October 2006 the Upside Down Sports Club, in
partnership with local disability sports officers from Cambridge
and Huntingdon, hosted a wheelchair training event as part of the
Whizz Kidz Wheelchair Skills Training Scheme and this resulted
in the re-launch of the Club in February 2008 with new members and
Trustees.
